Four teams were entered as part of the 2024-2025 EDVA Winter League. Represented Exeter Storm we had ESVC Thunder and Lightning both in Division 1, Tempests in Division 2 and Squalls in Division 3.
We use the EDVA Winter League to allow a range of opportunities for those not yet ready for regional aor national competitions. Squalls provides an excellent entry level for those new to the sport with the progression into Tempests and then Thunder or Lightning as they develop.
After a succesful 2023/24 with both Divsion 1 and Division 2 being won by Exeter Storm we aimed to repeat the feat again. With lots of new players coming in and many moving on ESVC Tempests were unable to match HKVB Spirit or Taunton VC and eventually finished 3rd. ESVC Sqaulls saw lots of new faces and unfortuntely had a difficult season and finished bottom in Division 3., however 2 of thier sets won did come aganist eventual winners HKVB so they weren’t too far off!
As for Division 1, Exeter Storm managed to secure 1st and 2nd place with Lightning edging out Thunder on sets won. Thunder managed to the season with only one loss, to ESVC Lighting, but dropping only 8 sets throughout the season meant Lightning’s consisteny meant they finished on top. There other lose came to an impressive Torexe Gladiators who game 3rd.
