Exeter Storm Volleyball Club

Exeter Storm Volleyball Club was set up by a group of volleyball enthusiasts in 2012. Under the direction of experienced coaches and many of the best volleyball players in the Exeter area banded together to form a team with the sole purpose of gaining entry to the National Volleyball League. Since being founded the club has gone from strength to strength with teams competing in local, regional, and national leagues.

The Start

Established in 2012, Exeter Storm won the Exeter and District Division 1 and Southwest League in their maiden year. Following this huge success, the club entered England’s National Volleyball League where we successfully earned an instant promotion to Division 2. During these years we were also Southern Crown Runners Up and National Shield Semi-Finalists.

The Early Years

Under the direction of experienced coaches, Arthur Mosley and Nick Hitt, both former Great Britain players, Exeter Storm Volleyball Club made a huge impact in its initial seasons. Throughout our first decade, the club saw great success in the EDVA and SW competitions.

The Latest

The club now boasts teams across National League, the Southwest Volleyball Association and the Exeter and District Volleyball Association. In addition to fielding players in junior competitions (JuVo) and having members represent the the Southwest and England it’s a force to be reconed with.

I have been playing volleyball for 16 years, since I was 11 years old. In that time I have played for Taunton, South West, Richard Huish College, and Bristol, as well as coaching Taunton Under 18 girls and being part of the Volleyball Taunton committee. I have been playing for Storm since I was 16 years old, absent a few times due to one injury or another! My preferred position is Outside Hitter.

I have been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old. Despite being young compared to the 'dinosaurs' in the club, I have plenty of volleyball experience. I play as an outside hitter for our NVL squad and I am also the BUCS captain for the University of Plymouth. I'm in my final year of university, studying Business Management, so I thought it made sense to volunteer myself as the treasurer of Exeter Storm.

Began playing volleyball in 2008 at University and have been playing ever since. Orginally starting out as Middle, over the last few years I'm seen darting around the back court as the Libero. I can occiasionly be seen gracing the front court in a variety of positions in local league when times are tough. I'm responsible for the website as well as the social media content and get involved in lots of other club duties as i'm at!

I’ve been playing volleyball for 20 years and have played for Exeter Storm since it’s creation. Starting out in volleyball at a beach tournament with my dad and brother and was instantly hooked. As a day job I am a Data Migration Consultant and when I’m not playing volleyball or migrating data I’m usually trying to keep my 2 kids entertained.
