After losing the very first match ESVC Lightning managed to bounce back by winning all of their future games and, consequently, winning the league title. Our first match against Exeter Uni was a really fun game to play, regardless of the outcome not being the one we wanted. It was important for the whole team to have the first official match of the season against a really good team so we could learn from our mistakes and get back in shape. In our second match the team was committed to have a good performance and secured a 5-0 win against Kirton Wolves, with a 25-6 score in the first set. This match boosted our confidence to the rest of the season leading to solid performances against all of opponents. We were kept on our toes until the final day of the season and secured the league title after two great games against UTV Dragons and PMVC Pirates. Also, I wanted to highlight the team consistency as we only dropped 5 sets after the first game, and how everyone that played in our team managed to get a MVP of the match, bar our libero who is the MVP in our hearts. The team showed a lot of improvements, on both personal and team level, and I am sure everyone was proud of the result. It was very nice to play with this team and hopefully we are going to keep improving in order to play even better next season.
