The SW Championships once again provided a fitting conclusion to another great season. With Exeter Storm Men retaining their title in the men’s division after a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wiltshire Mavericks. We dropped one game on route to the semi-finals vs City of Bristol but it was enough to claimed top spot in the group stages with Wiltshire Mavericks securing second place. The semi-final saw us play Devon rivals Plymouth Mayflower Men who finished forth in the round robin games. Exeter Storm beat PMVC 32:17 before the end of season showdown vs Wiltshire Mavericks. The final was a repeat of 2022, Exeter Storm vs Wilthisre Mavericks, and the result was the same. Exeter Storm beat Wiltshire Mavericks 25-15; 25-22.
Exeter Storm Ladies entered for the first time and used the competition to prepare for the season ahead. Against some tough NVL and SW opponents they took one win from 9. A tough weekend but with a young team we still learnt alot.
